DWC Presents Checks

The DWC was thrilled to present checks for $15,000 to Food for Thought Outreach and $10,000 to the DWC Family Assistance Fund at our February luncheon.

Food for Thought provides food on a year-round basis to school age children that are identified as food insecure, and is the nonprofit organization that the DWC membership voted to support with our fundraising in 2024 and 2025.

The DWC Family Assistance Fund supports struggling families in our area. It seeks to fill the gap between public assistance and self-sufficiency and strives to help in such a way that those in need may further help themselves. Such help can be given through grocery store/gas/department store gift cards, as well as full or partial payment of rent, utilities, medical expenses, or child care. Requests typically come from DWC members and local community organizations, as well as local church organizations
