December 2022 Membership Meeting

Posted on: December 27th, 2022

If you weren’t at our December luncheon you missed a wonderful show! The students of studio6twenty5 performed selections from the Nutcracker. Our own Rachel Prescott is the Artistic Director for the studio and arranged this show just for the DWC! There were 10 dancers in total and each one was just a joy to watch!

studio6twenty5 is fulfilling the timeless demand for classical performing arts. The studio teaches both classical ballet and contemporary dance. studio6twenty5 is proud to include the AMERICAN BALLET THEATER® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 9 level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development.

Pre-Primary through Level 5 is taught by ABT® Certified Teacher, Rachel Prescott. Rachel is the only teacher in NW Florida to be ABT® certified from pre-primary through Level 5. She is working toward full certification through Level 7.

We had two chance raffles at the December luncheon. One raffle was donated by Sinfonia Gulf Coast (Beth Clavier) and consisted of two VIP tickets and two vouchers to any Sinfonia production this season. The other raffle contained a Destin Harbor print, one ticket to Legally Blonde, a gift certificate to Hair by Karin Peterson, and a gift certificate to Risa Interiors. Our raffles brought in a total of $420 for the DWC!

Door Prize donations were provided by Patti Burcham, Helen Everett and Mary Chalmers. There was another door prize but wasn’t listed on the sheet.

Lunch included a lovely a Mexican buffet at Pedro’s Tacos & Tequila in Destin.
